The start of winter is officially here in the Bay of Plenty, we’ve been quite lucky so far with regards to the weather and temperature, but over the last week we’ve certainly felt it hit.
With the colder and darker evenings in full swing it the poker venues certainly do start to pick up more, especially here in Tauranga.
Not sure what its like in other parts of New Zealand, but winter is definitely a busier time for poker venues.
Although I do think poker in general is slowing dying off in Tauranga, we’ve had several games start up under the ‘Dream River’ poker league last year, which subsequently folded and closed all games across the region and there’s been a couple of independent week games also close up shop recently namely – Marble Bar at Gate Pa.
Do you find that the different seasons have an impact on the turn out of your games? Where do you live? Leave a comment below with your thoughts.
